  21. "Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve." Col. 3:23-24 It can be hard from day to day when you're in the mix of things to put the L For me, I have busy days and lots of meetings at times, a little prayer between activities helps. I often think about how Joseph survived through all the circumstances he did and then I think of the verse above. I'm encouraged by his story of faith. Great thoughts.
  22. I agree with Sanctified here... I too can be guilty of worshiping other things at times and allowing my focus to be distracted from Christ. Sometimes it is my wife, my kids, my grandson, etc.... all of them deserve my love and attention, but only Christ deserves my worship. Thank you for this wonderful devotion and reminder of what it truly means to worship our King.

  24. Thank you, FlyingAces! I am personally convicted by your statement that "sometimes God is not the recipient of our worship." I know I'm not alone in admitting that my heart is a little idol factory, and I need to be reminded that God is the only one worthy of my worship. I need to frequently reorient my worship back to him. Thanks for the devotion! I'll be returning to it throughout the week as a good reminder.
  25. We possibly have a donor to replace 2 AC units in our gym. Its about $10,000 and would be a huge boost to our school. Please pray that the donor organization approves it!
  26. Romans 12:1-2 — I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. As a Music Director for over six years, I’ve seen how worship can be expressed in many different ways: Hands up in the air, loud and robust singing, choirs and orchestras, guitars and drums with a band, jazz, rock, even silently and reflectively when we let musicians sing the words directly to our heart. However, too often church services finish the music as if they are done with worship. Although this is when it truly begins. We can still worship God through the reading of His Word, in loving our family, with our work ethic, and so much more. I’ve briefly defined what worship is to help us gain a better understanding: Worship is when we exalt someone or something above all else. Notice how God is not mentioned? That’s because sometimes God isn’t the recipient of our worship, which obviously is bad. So how do we know our worship for Christ is genuine? In Romans 12:1-2, the apostle Paul shares a few points that I want to highlight in relation to worship. Worship should encompass every part of a Christian to exalt God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength. The three main things to consider from Romans 12 are: First, we worship God in holiness. Paul makes it urgent to understand that genuine worship is both holy and acceptable to God. Second, we worship spiritually. It’s not an outward appearance to boast in ourselves but rather to submit to Christ and allow Him to renew our minds on a daily basis. Lastly, our worship needs to be centered on Jesus. Just as David, in 1 Chronicles 16, declared everything in Jesus’ name, we likewise need to live everyday life in His name. Not sure if you are experiencing genuine worship? Reach out to a 4K Command Staff member and we would love to talk with you about truly worshipping Jesus. “Worship as if Jesus died yesterday, rose this morning, and is coming back tomorrow.” — Martin Luther
